Sprouting is a great way to add extra nutrients, flavor, and texture to your dishes, and this set provides the best conditions for sprouts to develop. It's ideal for a variety of sprouts including broccoli, green beans, radish, lentil, alfalfa, and more.
How To Sprout From Seed
Method
- Place 1 tablespoon of seeds into your Kilner jar.
- Soak seeds in for 15 minutes in undiluted vinegar before starting the sprouting process, this will kill any harmful bacteria.
- Rinse using cold filtered water for a minute after soaking, place lid on jar.
- Leave to soak in a dark environment at room temperature for about 12 hours (soaking times may vary depending on seeds/pulses used).
- Refill and refresh with filtered water 2-3 times a day.
- Sprouts develop over 2-5 days.
- When ready, refrigerate sprouts for up to a maximum of 4 days.
- The developed sprouts can then be consumed straight away or stored in the glass jar using the one-piece lid.
